- I am currently attempting to teach myself C and I have a problem. I am
- using Boreland Turbo Lite 2.0 that came with one of the books I have
- purchased. The problem is it looks like this compiler will not allow me
- to create .exe files that will work outside the IDE. While this if fine
- for me to learn with it's a pain cause I can't create executable code with
- it.
-
- I went to a CompUSA near me today and most of the compilers they had were
- from $79 to $199.00 Don't want to spend that much at this time.
-
- Does anyone know of a good shareware version of a C compiler that is
- simple to use, but powerful enough to allow me to write code that is
- independent of the compiler?
-
- Also I was curious what is your opinion of a DOS compiler or the ones
- coming out for Windows?
-
- Please EMAIL me at keith83k@nhr.com since I don't know when I will be able
- to get back in here if you know of a good shareware version.
-
- Thanks.
